Tim Miller Steps Down from Great Britain Gambling Commission

Tim Miller is set to leave his position as executive director of the Great Britain Gambling Commission in September. He will depart after a decade of service at the regulatory body.

Regulatory Achievements and Reforms

During his tenure, Miller oversaw the development of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain. The Commission describes this as the largest survey of its kind globally, designed to provide a stronger evidence base for regulation. His work focused on increasing the rigour of the organization's research framework.

Miller also led the implementation of the Government’s Gambling Act Review White Paper. This initiative introduced new regulatory measures regarding age verification, financial vulnerability checks, and remote game design. Additional reforms covered direct marketing controls and broader safety standards.

Miller stated that his time at the Commission was the most rewarding part of his career and that he felt ready for a new challenge. Acting chief executive Sarah Gardner thanked him for his contribution to gambling regulation.
